In our post ‘How About ‘Web Optimization’ In 2013?’ our intention was to present great digital marketing opportunities (including BUT also) beyond SEO. We reviewed several digital marketing channels useful for building broader visibility amongst prospective lead opportunities and also for reinforcing a consistent business message across them all. To further support these ideas, Gartner’s recent ‘U.S. Digital Marketing Spending Survey, 2013’ sheds light both on how leading U.S. marketers surveyed spend their digital dollar and also on where they feel they’re having the most success.
While those surveyed are likely to be targeted nationally, as opposed to local, and to have large digital budgets for things like Advertising, SEO & PPC, in this chart we can see a great deal of their expenditure is also put toward content creation, website design & development, email marketing, analytics (analysis), social, mobile, video and blogging. Channels that may even work more when locally targeted! What’s even more compelling is to see where the marketers surveyed feel they have the most success, including with design, development and content creation.
You have a great product or service so everything you do is potential marketing! In an ever more disintermediated world there are no barriers to compete for leads and new business! Leveraging a web presence with great content and having the discipline to push it out to lots of different channels is a major key to success.
So please, if you’re thinking about how any of these channels can better support your business online, do not hesitate to get in touch. We’d love to help answer any questions you may have.
